Katie is a versatile author who has explored various genres aimed at both children and adults.

Writing children’s fiction as Katie Sahota since 2020, she has a strong belief in the power of books and writing to tackle important issues such as identity, inclusion and race, using her experiences of a gender-biased career and as the mother of two mixed race girls with her husband.

In 2023, Katie was diagnosed with breast cancer, a challenge that only strengthened her resolve and motivated her to fully commit to her writing during treatment.

More recently, writing adult fiction as Katie Lou, she aims to create stories that not only entertain but also provoke thought and provide solace to readers facing their own battles.

As an avid reader, Katie enjoys a wide range of fiction and non-fiction and loves how books bring people together and create opportunities for self-care, growth and reflection.

With a talent for writing engaging narratives across genres, Katie’s ultimate goal is to transport readers into immersive worlds and leave them with memorable characters and themes that linger long after the final page.

When she’s not crafting captivating tales, Katie finds joy in spending time with her family and friends, running and visiting garden centres.

It’s simple – books can change lives. I hope my writing will make a difference and create a positive impact on the world.
