The Cats Who Wanted More
The Cats Who Wanted More is my latest children’s book, published with Owlet Press in September 2022. It is a political satire about capitalism, greed and fake news and tells a cautionary tale of immoral excess through the lives of the clever (but very greedy) cats. How will the mice and rats survive, and can they uncover the cats’ despicable plans?
A work of satirical genius

The peaceful lives of the cats are interrupted one day by the humans beginning to work from home. The cats use this disruption to their advantage as they watch very carefully, learning how to use the internet to meet online and make their plans. Through the computers they order food deliveries, becoming greedier and larger day by day. They don’t want to share so they hide all the food from the mice and rats, sending notes to them so the rodents blame each other.
Just as the rodents are about to come to blows, they realise they have been tricked and join forces. They confront the cats, but the cats continue to lie, offering to share their stale cat food instead. The rodents spy on the cats and discover the truth, sneaking into the houses at night to take just enough food back for each of their families. The cats wake up and chase after the rodents, getting stuck in the cat flaps as they have become so large. As a final revenge… you’ll have to buy the book to find out!
